Bamaga Junior Campus

The Bamaga Pre-prep to Year Seven campus (or Bamaga Junior Campus), of the Northern Peninsula Area State College caters for the educational needs of students from the three communities of Bamaga New Mapoon and Seisia.

The campus is lead by a head of campus and there is a head of teaching and learning leader also based on the campus. The staff comprises about 18 teachers, teacher aides, and office staff with a student population of approximately 250 young people.

The Bamaga Junior Campus is located on top of a hill over looking the Bamaga township. Students are bused to school from the Seisia and New Mapoon communities or walk from their Bamaga homes.

The site has a very large oval and the original buildings are of the wide balcony timber style connected by coverered walkways. In recent years the school has had an additional four classrooms added in the modern style (2005) and a dedicated Pre-prep building and playground (2009). All teaching spaces have glass sliding windows and split system air conditioners.

In 2012 a dedicated library/resource room and computer laboratory was built and an upgrade made to the public vehicle access.

The campus may be contacted by phone on (07) 4090 4444.
