Late in term three the results of the testing undertaken in May 2013 were made available to schools and to parents and media outlets.

Northern Peninsula Area State College student results in the Years Three, Five and Seven National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) have been described as ‘exceptional’ by departmental officials and media outlets nation wide.

Getting four of five strands to National Benchmarks is probably a national achievement with no remote community school of any size achieving this since NAPLAN was first started.

Larger numbers of the college students are now high achievers with results in the upper two bands in many of the test strands. Numeracy achievement in Year Seven demonstrated that 100% of the students are in the upper two bands which is a truly exceptional result.

The graphs on this page illustrate the steady improvement in the NAPLAN results achieved by successive cohorts of students over the last several years as a reult of the teaching methodologies and processes put in place across the college.

These results are a credit to the hard work of the students, the daily dedication and diligence of the teachers and the vision and leadership of the college administration team.

Congratulations on a job well done and continuing to be well done.
